Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is an aerospace company specializing in long-endurance unmanned aerial platforms for a wide variety of industries. KHA supports a number of customers to carry out missions involving aerial reconnaissance, survey, communication relay and communications provisioning. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement, including planning required supplies for production with the production team, placing and tracking order status, identifying and supporting the qualification of new suppliers and products with the engineering team, and maintaining good supplier relations, including involvement in new supplier audits and qualification. This role requires a strong background in purchasing in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
Responsibilities :
Procurement Management : Collaborate with the production team to plan and forecast the required supplies for production, considering lead times, order quantities, and inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials and components. (5 years)
Order Placement and Tracking : Place purchase orders with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and track order status to ensure on-time delivery and manage any changes or delays. (5 years)
Supplier Relations : Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met, and implement corrective actions when necessary. (5 years)
Supplier Evaluation : Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers and products, and work closely with the engineering team to conduct supplier audits and qualification processes to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements. (3 years)
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Operations, to ensure that purchased materials and components meet required specifications and support the production process. (3 years)
Market Research : Monitor market trends and conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities, alternative sources of supply, and emerging technologies or products. (3 years)
Contract Negotiation : Lead and participate in contract negotiations with suppliers, including terms and conditions, pricing, and quality requirements. (3 years)
Compliance : Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management. (5 years)
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, reports, and documentation, and provide regular reports to management on procurement performance and supplier metrics. (5 years)
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices, including strategic sourcing, supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management. (5 years)
Experience in planning and forecasting materials and components for production, considering lead times, order quantities, and inventory levels. (5 years)
Proven track record in identifying and qualifying new suppliers and products, conducting supplier audits, and managing supplier relations. (3 years)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. (3 years)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. (3 years)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as ITAR, EAR, and DFARS, related to procurement in the aerospace industry. (3 years)
Familiarity with ERP systems and other procurement software tools. (5 years)
Professional certifications in supply chain management, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), are preferred.
Anticipated compensation : $75,000 -100,000 DOE
