Job Summary:
Early Growers is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our lead teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a love for nature, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing nature-based, play-centered learning activities.
- Support children in their daily routines, including mealtime, rest time, and outdoor exploration.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff members.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment.
- Encourage children's social and emotional development using positive guidance techniques.
- Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and material preparation.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting is preferred.
- Passion for outdoor learning, sustainability, and early childhood development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow the lead teacher’s guidance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and patient.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be active outdoors in various weather conditions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
