Engineering Product Specialist: Line Engineering

The primary job function of the Engineering Product Specialist – Line Engineering is to design and support KHS Digital products in assessing customer needs to prepare quotations and support customers, engineering and project management colleagues in the stages of planning to final commissioning of complete lines, preparing customer presentations and supporting KHS equipment that has been deployed to the field.

Your Responsibilities

• Assessment of costumer electrical engineering documents
• Technical sales support regarding the electrical execution of KHS lines and machines
• Technical clarification meetings regarding the electrical execution of KHS lines and machines with costumers (remote/personally at the customer site)
• Preparation of a costumer related ETS
• Sales Support for the TRiA** (process for the products electrical material supply, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) ETS processing — ORDER PHASE
• Assessment of costumer electrical engineering documents
• Technical support regarding the electrical execution of KHS scope of delivery
• Technical clarification meetings regarding the electrical execution of the KHS scope of delivery with the costumer
• Participation C-Gate Meeting
• Preparation of the order related ETS
• Electrical engineering of the Wire ways in the Order Processing Layout (OPL)
• Preparation of the RFQ for the electrical installation material
• Clarification of Quality issues regarding the electrical installation material
• Follows KHS USA processes and procedures to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; integrates European and American standards.
• Interacts with production to verify and test equipment; provides technical assistance and support to sales, service, and purchasing as directed; supports parts sales by identifying correct replacement parts.
• Prior to shipment, verifies performance of equipment to meet customer needs.
• Troubleshoots performance issues in the field with field service and the customer’s technical representatives; analyzes KHS components, determines if equipment is functioning properly; takes action needed to ensure proper functioning.
  
  

Your Profile

• Bachelorof electrical engineering
• Good knowledge of machine interfaces
• Good knowledge of common interface standard e. g. Weihenstephan, OMAC
• Good knowledge of the relevant electrical UL and Canadian Norms and regulations
• Confident demeanor in negotiations
• Very good communication skills in written and oral
• Knowledge of electrical European Norms and regulation
• At least three years’ experience in engineering processing equipment in a food or beverage packaging/processing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mastery of MS Office applications
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency within reasonable period of time in KHS USA ERP system
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Valid Passport and driver’s license are required.
• Preferred skills:
• Good knowledge of the KHS Product portfolio
• Good knowledge of the KHS tools ECOS, SAP, Reqman, MS Office
