Position Overview: The Cycle Counter is responsible for performing and directing all cycle count activities to support and maintain inventory accuracy within the Manitowoc plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical inventory counts on a day-to-day basis following established cycle counting processes.
- Document cycle counts in BPCS or counting worksheets, communicate discrepancies as needed to appropriate parties.
- Investigate and problem solve discrepancies in inventories.
- Assist with inventory special count requests outside of cycle count program as assigned by Operations Managers.
- Perform and maintain cycle count completion and accuracy rates.
- Responsible for development, training and deployment of all cycle count and inventory related processes and programs.
- Coordinate and manage the inventory transfer of all outside operations (outbound components/parts).
- Point person for Manitowoc inventory, including year-end inventory or cycle count observations with outside auditors.
- Recommend inventory code and frequency changes for specific parts or families of parts.
- Participate in root cause analysis and develop recommendations to improve inventory processes and accuracy.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience required
- Knowledge of basic inventory and cycle count processes
- Possess forklift operator license or have ability to obtain a license within one month of position hire.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior attention to detail
- Analytical problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to work as a team
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to follow all safety procedures
- Ability to learn and understand using BPCS
