General Summary
Coordinate all purchasing related activities between Kia Georgia and automotive parts suppliers. Meet with and direct suppliers on a regular basis in the areas of Cost, Development, Quality, Delivery, Management, and Safety to determine and optimize progress and discuss current & future activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Select, develop and manage supply base for production parts, components and systems by: preparing RFQ's for multi-year full production quantities (as required), negotiating long term agreements, maintaining competitive pricing and leading yearly cost reduction activities.
- Analyze supplier timelines for new part development: Verify supplier tooling, packaging, dimensional, shipping, testing, etc. milestones and provide notification of gaps/errors.
- Asset Management: Ensure that all assets are tagged, locations are validated, records of all tooling are maintained and updated, and amortization is confirmed.
- ISIR Submission: Receive and Approve before parts are released for launch/ mass production.
- Manage supply base in all key areas to gain efficiencies and Understand Key Supplier Performance Metrics to implement and confirm improvement plans Supplier Documentation (ISIRs, 4Ms, other legal contracts).
- Achieve Supplier Quality Targets by managing key supplier performance indexes and Manage supplier troubleshooting and analyze non-conforming parts and generate corrective actions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all EOs: Maintain and update system(s) with EO data. Ensure that EOs are implemented per schedule.
- Process improvements, mentoring and training, CFT support, etc.
- Material preparation for meetings and other reports.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- OEM or parts components supplier experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills a must.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
