Position Summary
As a Turf and Utility Technician, you'll be responsible for the set-up and maintenance of lawn and garden equipment, specializing in John Deere machinery. From chainsaws to compact tractors, your expertise will ensure that our customers receive top-notch service while embodying {COG NAME} core values of Commitment, Passion, Progressiveness, Integrity, and Value Delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform setup and repair tasks for John Deere lawn and garden equipment.
- Diagnose and repair small engines and related equipment as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing maintenance, repair, and service concerns and documenting them on work orders.
- Engage in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on John Deere and competitor product knowledge.
- Maintain the condition of inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines during work assignments.
- Complete all necessary reports and forms associated with work duties.
- Track and account for time and materials used for assigned tasks.
- Foster positive and respectful interactions with customers and colleagues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in small engines, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Capability to execute basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to turf equipment and small engines.
- Competence in using Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer functions.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Willingness to work Saturdays and extended hours as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
- Associates degree preferred.
