Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as Patrol Officers. The Patrol Officer is responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, preventing crime, and enforcing laws and ordinances within the Kickapoo Reservation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patrol areas to deter crime and maintain visibility.
- Respond to calls for service, including emergencies, disturbances, and requests for assistance.
- Conduct traffic stops, investigate accidents, and enforce traffic laws.
- Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
- Make arrests and testify in court as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community partners.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Kansas Full-Time Law Enforcement Certification (Preferred, not required for hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, or 21 years of age by the time of graduation from KLETC.
- Ability to pass a background check, physical fitness test, and psychological evaluation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior law enforcement experience.
- Certification as a law enforcement officer in the state of Kansas.
