Job Overview
This position organizationally falls under the Realty/Property and UNITY Coordinator. Operational hours are Wednesday through Friday; 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., or as needed. The purpose of this position is to perform those duties as may be commonly associated with housekeeping in such a way to promote the cleanliness and sanitary environment to enhance the appearance of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma motel. It also is to perform those duties associated with checking guests in and out of the motel and being available for requests made by guests during their stay.
The work environmental characteristics described herein are representative of those employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job in any maintenance. Normal functions related to such a work environment should be expected, and conditions may flex to a high stress level, and a varying number of employees and staff with whom this employee must interact. Work involves working interdepartmentally and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs heavy duties by cleaning floor, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming, shampooing (clean) carpets and dry carpets, preps, strip, applies finish, spray, and buff tile floor(s).
- Gathers and empties trash cans, paper shredders and transports trash to disposal area.
- Empties all outside trash and/or cigarette butt containers.
- Setting up and taking down a continental breakfast every morning.
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Ability to learn Software necessary for the motel.
- Clean windows, door panels, mirrors, and sills inside and out.
- Monitors in-house inventory movement and complete inventory transfer forms.
- Dusts furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
- Disinfect all doorknobs, chairs and tables.
- Cleans and stocks all dispensers, such as soap, sanitizer, shampoo, sanitary waste boxes, toilet paper, towels, etc.
- Clean vacant rooms and prepare them for new guests to check in.
- Change bedding in rooms.

Qualifications
- Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compound and solutions.
- Knowledge of maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals according to state and Federal regulations; handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of stand methods, practices, tools and equipment used to clean floors and furniture.
- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications to cleaning solutions, and other technical information.
- Ability to do the work of the position with or without direct supervision.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- Bilingual (preferred).
- Possess a valid State of Oklahoma Driver’s License
- Pass a Drug Screening Test
- Complete an OSBI and Federal background investigation.
