Job Summary
Kicks to Learn is seeking Program Leads to provide direct support to students with their academic, behavioral, and sometimes physical needs. Under the supervision of the Site Lead, Program Leads will implement instructional plans and ensure a positive learning environment for all students. Their responsibilities may include one-on-one assistance, small group instruction, classroom management support, and data collection to monitor student progress.
Key responsibilities of a Program Lead may include:
- Assisting individual students or small groups with academic tasks, reinforcing concepts taught by the teacher, providing extra practice with specific skills, and helping with homework completion.
- Implementing behavior management strategies as directed by the Site Lead, offering positive reinforcement, and helping to de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Maintaining a positive classroom environment by assisting with transitions, distributing materials, organizing supplies, and monitoring student behavior.
- Leading small group activities, reading aloud to students, providing visual aids, and adapting materials to meet individual needs.
- Keeping open communication with the Site Lead and other school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Supervise and support youth during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all individuals, regardless of their background or abilities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop programs that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to youth, helping them set and achieve personal goals.
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding youth progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Assist in organizing events, camps, or workshops aimed at enhancing youth skills in various areas such as sports, arts, or academics.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences:
- A background in special education or early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Experience in babysitting, tutoring, or childcare can be beneficial.
- Familiarity with sports coaching or classroom management is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to effectively support youth growth.
- Certification in first aid is preferred to ensure safety during activities.
- Experience working in camp settings can enhance engagement techniques with youth participants.
