The Early Intervention Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. This position works collaboratively with families to assess needs, develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), coordinate services, and supports families in advocating for their child's best interests. This career path requires a sensitive and caring individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A Service Coordinator strives to help families understand the philosophy behind early intervention and wants to help make a difference in the life of both the child and family. Home visits are required. A flexible work schedule is expected to accommodate families. Evening and weekend appointments with families are sometimes needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with families to identify their strengths, needs, and priorities.
- Conduct developmental screenings and assessments.
- Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Coordinate early intervention services with various providers (e.g., therapists, educators).
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy for families.
- Educate families about available resources and their rights within the early intervention system.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in: Early Childhood, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, Child/Human Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families with diverse needs.
- Strong knowledge of child development and early intervention practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- REQUIRED: At least one year of experience in the field of early intervention or early childhood education.
