Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger and assist month-end/year-end close processes including monthly journal entries including, but not limited to:
- Bad Debt (quarterly)
- Prepaid expense
- Engineering Allocation
- WIP
- Excess & Obsolete True-Up
- Inventory
- Labor Distribution
- Work Order Variances
- Responsible for the accurate booking of monthly accruals, including, but not limited to:
- Freight
- Warranty
- Property Tax
- Commissions/Bonus
- International Accrual
- Payroll accrual for hourly workers
- Bad Debt (quarterly)
- Prepaid expense
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including, but not limited to:
- Other Receivables
- Inventory by category
- Prepaids
- Fixed Assets/Depreciation/CIP
- Accrued liabilities
- Payroll Liabilities (incl 401k, HSA, FSA, EE Voluntary Benefits)
- Daily Bank Reconciliations of 4 bank accounts
- Produce daily and weekly production reports
- Review and Analyze Standard vs Actuals Costs, Gross Margin Analysis, Work Order Variances, and Purchase Price, Usage, and Labor variances
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs.
- Maintain and update fixed asset and CIP schedules
- Conduct Physical Inventories and cycle counts
- Annual Standard Cost Roll Up
- Assist with weekly payroll processing and tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage and monitor all Documentary Letters of Credit received from customers
- Maintain the Travel Expense Reimbursement system including onboarding of new employees, performing periodic audits
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and help in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5 – 8 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.
- Mix of General and Cost Accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in accounting software (JD Edwards a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPA or progress towards CPA certification is a plus.
