Kidder Mathews Accounting Associate is responsible for providing accounting/financial, valuation processing, commission processing support, weekly check-run, administrative and clerical support in the Corporate Accounting Department. Assists Sr Accounting Manager and SVP Accounting & Finance with financial program monitoring and reporting. Ensures work meets Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and follows laws, regulations, policies, and contracts. A high level of detail and accuracy is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow the company’s established accounting processes
- Assist in all aspects of day-to-day valuation administration resulting in accurate and timely payments
- Create, validate, and audit monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Respond to all inquiries relating to appraisers and other KM departments
- Supporting the processing of accounts payable invoices
- Supporting as a backup for commission processing on a weekly basis
- Support the processing and reconciliation of undisbursed funds including timely follow-up
- Trace wires received and record appropriately (supporting)
- Assist with month end close processing in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide supporting reports for audits as requested
- Review accounts and confirm reconciliation daily
- Assist in producing monthly statements
- Support Appraisal onboarding and maintenance support
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements, documenting procedures to achieve efficiencies and scalability
- Assist in annual 1099 filings including obtaining W-9 forms
- Assist others within the accounting team as needed
- Participate in various ad hoc projects
- Perform other duties and projects requested
SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure work is in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and contracts.
- The ability to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline-oriented environment

- Proficient at data entry; 10 key by touch
- Professional and customer-service oriented with the ability to interface with employees, management, and clients

- Ability to prioritize and organize workload in order to meet daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines
- Professional level of confidentiality in handling employee information
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and strong trouble shooting skills
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours to meet various deadlines
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- AA in accounting is preferred
- 2 years of related experience
- PC literate (internet, Excel, Word, Outlook) and working knowledge of accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics or SL is preferred)
- Strong Excel skills required – high accuracy and speed in data entry to perform this job.
- This is a standard office environment with standard office noise like talking, office equipment, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must frequently sit and use a computer for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. The employee must sometimes lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
