Job Overview:
The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants (typically ages 0-2). The teacher will implement a curriculum that focuses on sensory, social, emotional, and cognitive development. The Infant Teacher will foster the overall well-being of each child while ensuring a positive and enriching experience for both the child and their family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of infants at all times.
- Provide attentive care during feeding, diapering, and nap time.
- Assist infants with basic needs, such as changing, feeding, and comforting.
- Engage infants in interactive play, songs, and sensory experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration.
- Plan daily activities, ensuring they align with developmental milestones for infants.
- Organize materials and toys that support sensory exploration, motor skill development, and creativity.
- Ensure that the classroom is well-maintained and adheres to health and safety standards.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, needs, and any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with infants or in a childcare setting.
- Knowledge of child development theories, infant care, and age-appropriate activities.
- CPR and 45 Hour DCF certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to respond appropriately to the needs of infants.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
