Job Summary
Kiddie Academy of Carmel Westfield is seeking an Infant Teacher to care for and educate infants. The infant teacher is in charge of providing a safe, loving, and structured environment that encourages early development of cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish safe environment and provide care and supervision to infants at all times.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including sanitation practices, emergency procedures, and accident reporting.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Engage in activities that stimulate babies' senses (e.g., music, tactile play, visual stimulation).
- Observe and track infants' developmental milestones and behavior.
- Communicate any concerns or changes in behavior to parents and/or supervisors.
- Maintain detailed records of each child's progress, activities, and incidents.
- Build and maintain a positive, open line of communication with parents or caregivers.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, and staff to ensure the smooth running of the classroom.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Arrange and maintain classroom materials and toys, ensuring they are safe and appropriate for the children's developmental stages.
- Implement routines for nap time, feeding, and diapering.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and cleanup.
- Change diapers and assist with potty training as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
- Ongoing professional development and training in early childhood education is often required.
- Previous experience in early childhood education, daycare, or a related field is often preferred.
Hours:
- Full-time or part-time positions available, with hours typically aligning with daycare or preschool operation hours (e.g., 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
