We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position allows you to mesh your experience in early childhood education and administrative expertise through your communication and creative skills. This will enable you to support the director and our passionate team of child care professionals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community every day. Kiddie Academy has been a leader in education-based child care for 40 years, providing families with high-quality care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. Our proprietary Life Essentials curriculum and supportive programs are designed to prepare children for school while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation for the center.
- Provide excellent customer service to parents and visitors both in person and over the phone.
- Support staff in and out of the classroom
- Manage communication through phone systems and email correspondence.
- Proofread documents for accuracy and clarity before distribution.
- Ensure all daily operations are in compliance with center policies, DHS/Licensing regulations, and Grow New Jersey Kids and NAEYC high quality standards.
- Lead by example and model better practices; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Maintain daily open communication with parents. Keeping confidentiality.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment. Including supervision of children, daily safety check of facilities, and maintaining appropriate hygiene of the center.
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Assist Director with all academy operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and support.
- Able to transition to a classroom setting in a support role

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
