Position Summary:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and responsible Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our preschool team. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 1-3 years old. You will help support daily routines, assist with educational activities, and ensure that each child’s physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum
- Supervise and engage toddlers during playtime, meals, naps, and learning experiences
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Support children in developing self-help skills and appropriate social behaviors
- Observe and document children’s progress and behavior, and share observations with the Lead Teacher
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff in a positive and professional manner
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development as required
- Provide individual attention to children in need of extra support
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred
- CPR and 45 Hour DCF Training Completion (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage in active play
- Full time availability to work Monday to Friday 9AM-6PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
