Lead teachers are responsible for the planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children. The lead teacher is also generally assisted in the classroom by an assistant teacher, and is responsible in ensuring parents and children concerns are appropriately addressed.
- We are willing to train any candidate that does not have experience but otherwise is a good fit.
- Teacher-Must have 12 ECE units including child family and community, child growth and development, program curriculum and/or infant/toddler development for Infant/Toddler positions. Please be ready to send in unofficial transcripts to verify the completion of the 12 ECE units.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist and supervise children during all activities
- Provide positive guidance to children
- Plan, prepare, and implement our Life Essentials curriculum materials and classroom activities with teaching team to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner
- Ensure that the appearance, cleanliness, organization, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
- Complete all academy and classroom paperwork (ie: attendance, health checks, lesson plans, accident reports, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet all California state requirements for the position
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years
- Pleasant/friendly demeanor
- Highly professional and dependable
- Must be able to interact warmly, appropriately, and professionally with students of all ages (6 weeks-6 years) and skill levels, as well as with parents, coworkers, and management
- Must complete a health check screening and be able to lift no less than 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
- Experience in child care is preferred
- Must pass a complete background check to be eligible for this position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
