Duties and Responsibilities:
These are the basic expectations for the Childcare teammate. Of course, creative and new ways to meet or exceed expectations are encouraged, so long as the required essential functions are also met.
- Provide safe and quality care to children
- Teach children to problem solve, gain confidence, and learn through modeling, feedback, recognition and other means. Ensure only positive child guidance techniques are used at all times.
- Keep your classroom clean, tidy and safe.
- Use curriculum to meet each child’s unique needs. Work with an interdisciplinary team to implement IEP’s or IFSP’s for children with varying abilities.
- Regularly communicate with parents/guardians to build meaningful relationships and keep families up to date on their child(ren)’s milestones, daily activities, etc. by using the Brightwheel application.
- Arrive to work on time, as scheduled and ready to give 100% every day.
- Attend mandatory meetings, trainings, professional development days, or any other meetings as required by the Childcare Director.
- Be responsive to changing needs with a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned to contribute to the center’s success.
- Flexible in covering breaks.
Qualifications and Education:
- Demonstrated ability to partner with Center leadership
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is a plus!
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certification, or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Speak, read, and write English fluently
- Basic technology skills (e.g. Brightwheel application, email, phone, etc.)
