Kiddiegarten needs a Summer Camp School Age teacher to run its summer camp 2025 program for 12 weeks from June 9th until August 29th, 2025.
- POSITION: Summer Camp 2025 School Age Teacher, option to continue employment beyond summer camp
- SALARY: More than competitive and based on education and experience.

- WORK LOCATION: 9495 Garland Ln N, Maple Grove, MN 565311
- WORKING HOURS: 8:00 AM to 5:00PM Monday to Friday.
- PAID TIME OFF: Accrues based on actual hours worked, up to 80 hours per year
- FREE MEALS: Free meals at the school with students
- SPOT AWARDS: Spot awards are awarded to recognize good performance
- NUMBER OF STUDENTS: Expected 20 to 30. Maximum Capacity 50
- SUPPORT STAFF: Assistant teachers / Aides will be available in order to maintain 1:15 Student Teacher ratio, depending on the enrollments
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Priority will be give to licensed elementary teachers in the school district
- At least 2 year of full-time experience in a licensed childcare facility required
- Must clear DHS mandated background study requirements.
- Valid pediatric first and aid CPR certification at all times during employment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching Summer Camp Students: Teach Elementary grade students from ages 6 to 10 years during Summer Camp duration using weekly themes, Scratch coding curriculum, and comprehensive curriculum workbooks for the next grade. Teacher is expected to follow school district standards and protocols as much as possible and applicable.
- Compliance to DHS Rules: Always adhere to DHS Rule 3 requirements and supervise the assigned group of students and maintain student teacher ratios.
- Classroom Organization and Housekeeping: Ensure that classroom is properly organized and kept in neat and orderly manner (including teacher’s space, cabinets, drawers, and children’s cubbies).
- Safety, Health and Hygiene: Maintain high level of safety, health and hygiene. Minimize risk by assessing environments daily for hazards. Ensure emergency procedures are followed. Issue incident reports to parents.
- Student’s Behavior Management: Provide positive, clear and consistent expectations of acceptable behavior and redirect inappropriate behavior.
- Communicate with Parents: Ensure regular communications with the parents, and provide regular updates to parents using Procare smartphone app.
- Weekly Summer Camp Highlights: Prepare and issue weekly summer camp highlights covering activities of the previous week.
- Field Trips and Enrichment: Support field trips and enrichment activities as planned by Kiddiegarten.
- Supervise Assistant Teacher / Aides: Provide work direction to assistant teachers and classroom aides.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed in the center environment, both indoors and outdoors. Child care centers are dynamic with a high level of activity. Work may also be performed during field trips as well as at community sites for promotional activities. Incumbent must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand up during most of the day, assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children, bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day, stoop, sit on the floor, have the ability to move from a seated position to a standing position promptly to respond to emergency situations, perform all activities with children, i.e. jump, dance, walk, run, etc. for extended periods of time. Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children's well-being. Incumbent will need to be highly flexible and adaptable, able to engage in multiple tasks, able to respond quickly and appropriately to changing needs of children, staff, parents, and regulatory authorities.
