Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 70 team members across eight office locations. We are looking for a dynamic fulltime Patient Representative to join our growing team. We have multiple locations throughout the Las Vegas and Henderson area.
This position will work a 9/4 schedule. Work schedule will be Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5pm OR 8am to 5:30pm and Friday 8am to 12 noon. For immediate consideration please complete and sign an employment application at our website at https://www.ksosn.com/careers/.
Position Summary
The Patient Representative performs all essential Front Office duties. This position is responsible for keeping work areas clean and organized, as well as ensuring the office provides a welcoming environment for patients. In addition, this position will cross train in all the Front Office positions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greets patients and other visitors upon arrival.
- Answers all phone calls and directs callers to the correct department.
- Schedules patient appointments - adds patients to recall and/or worklists.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Checks patients in and out for their visit.
- Processes patient paperwork including new patients and annual paperwork.
- Ensures Clinic Prep is completed in the allotted time.
- Scans insurance cards for each patient and verifies insurance eligibility.
- Collects and posts patient co-pays.
- Ensures all paperwork is completed and processed for new patients.
- Completes eligibility tasks and orders in the EMR.
- Maintains 95% or above accuracy on all audits.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following all policies and procedures.
- Cross trains in all front office positions to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Travels to other locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must receive the influenza vaccine every year during flu season.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of prior relevant experience required.
- Must have analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions.
- Must be customer service oriented and prepared to liaise with patients, families, and providers.
- Must have excellent communication, multi-tasking and computer skills.
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.
- English/Spanish bilingual is an asset.
- Prior experience with EPIC is an asset.
