Ultrasound Technician
Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Assistants, as well as 80 team members across eight locations.
We are looking for a dynamic per diem Ultrasound Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
Position provides ultrasound images and related data to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders affecting the vascular system
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs clinical assessment and all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by physician including abdominal ultrasound, renal ultrasound, peripheral arterial disease and upper extremity vein mapping for dialysis access.
- Performs preliminary reports and communicates findings to the appropriate physician according to established procedures
- Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area and maintains adequate supplies.
- Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties.
- Participates in community education activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years of non-invasive vascular ultrasound testing experience required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with specific diagnostic protocol in lower extremity evaluation.
- Must have basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with diagnostic protocol expertise for vein mapping, dialysis assessment and venous insufficiency preferred.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
