Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Director to lead our child care program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Early Childhood Education - a degree preferred, but not necessary. As the Child Care Director, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment that promotes the growth and development of children while ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the child care program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all children.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets developmental milestones and educational standards.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to foster a professional team dedicated to child development.
- Establish positive relationships with families, providing regular communication regarding children's progress and program activities.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements related to child care services.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings and support services for families.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, and program activities.
- Cover classrooms when short staffed
- Manage staff
Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred, but not necessary - will train the right person
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably within early childhood education.
- Must be at least 21-years-old
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
