Reports To: Revenue Cycle Manager
Position Status: Non-exempt
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of a Lead Revenue Cycle Specialist-Training Focus is to participate in the development and delivery of RCM related training to team members in the front offices/practices and our internal RCM team members in partnership with the RCM leadership team.
In addition to training duties, the Lead Revenue Cycle Specialist will maintain an assigned workload of AR collections for assigned practice(s) and be responsible for improving overall collections processes, while maintaining high levels of customer service for all our patients’ accounts.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead on the development, delivery and tracking of front office/practice RCM training in collaboration with RCM leadership team.
- Audit account balances/credits: verify payments and fee schedules applied to services rendered along with any necessary adjustment(s)
- Implement patient collection processes and improve our collection protocols within agreed upon deadlines; initiate contact to patients to collect balances due and/or obtain additional information as needed
- Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and other regulations
- Friendly and speedy responses to patient inquiries from our front office and correspondence teams
- Respond timely to emails and telephone messages as appropriate. Communicate issues to management, including payer, system or escalated account issues
- Identify issues or trending to provide suggestions for resolution
- Accurately and thoroughly document the pertinent activities performed
- Assist Leadership team on special projects and/or assignments
Qualifications
Desired Background
- Experience working in a dental billing practice or similar environment
- Experience developing content and delivering hands on training to team members.
- Knowledge of medical and dental terminology and procedures
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills are a must
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Knowledge of dental insurance required
- Familiarity with dental insurance websites
- Excel experience
- Medical Billing and/or Coding experience
