What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant - Child Welfare position at Kids Central?
The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions including accounts receivables, general ledger journal functions, budget functions, account reconciliations, and processing of financial reports. Assists Contracts Department, with budget analysis of contracted provider agencies and reviews quarterly actual expenditures versus budget; and performs fiscal monitoring of providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains accounts receivable aging and associated billings
- Prepares and processes daily and monthly journal entries
- Performs monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepares daily deposits to various bank accounts
- Performs month-end closing duties
- Assists with budget preparation and forecasting
- Assists with financial analysis
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting and three years accounting experience; or a combination of specialized training and experience. Contracts and non-profit experience preferred
Licensure/Certifications
Ability to successfully clear a Level II background screening
Valid Florida driver’s license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to meet Organizational Required Competency standards
- Highly proficient in accounting software packages such as Solomon

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and
Strong communications skills (verbal and written) - Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills as well as
- Ability to travel up to 5%
