What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Kitchen Assistant/Breaker ! position at Kids & Company Ltd?
Reporting to the Center Director, the Kitchen Assistant/Breaker plays a key role in the Kids & Company team by assisting with the day-to-day operations of food preparation and cooking in the kitchen. Breakers are responsible for covering breaks, maintaining staff ratios, and stepping in wherever needed, as directed by the Center Director while adhering to Kids & Company standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
KITCHEN ASSISTANT:
- Perform daily tasks such as heating food, preparing vegetables and starches, cutting fruit, portioning, dishwashing, and delivering food to classrooms.
- Assist the Cook in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs.
- Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
- Comply with all health regulations and follow company best practices.
- Adhere to proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware collected from classrooms.
- Maintain the kitchen cleaning schedule, which includes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Be adaptable to changes in duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the daycare centers.
BREAKER
- Provide nurturing care to young children in a group setting.
- Cover breaks for classroom lead teachers.
- Assist in the implementation of enriched programs aligned with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy.
- Collaborate with the team in the classroom to ensure excellent supervision and interaction with children at all times, including in classrooms, sleep rooms, and during outdoor activities.
- Help children learn and grow through our personalized curriculum.
- Assist children in various activities.
- Be adaptable to changes in duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the childcare centers.
