Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate
and timely reporting, and implementing robust processes for financial accountability. This position
requires a detail-oriented, hands-on leader, with strong technical expertise and the ability to drive
improvements in financial systems and operations. The Controller plays an integral role in supporting
data-driven decision-making, contributing to L10 meetings, and collaborating closely with the COO and
leadership team to align financial activities with organizational goals. This role reports to the COO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable,
payroll, and general ledger management.
Ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and
organizational policies.
Leads budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, providing actionable insights to
leadership.
Monitors cash flow and working capital to support operations and ensure the company can
meet its financial obligations while supporting growth.
Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Manages financial reporting to ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls.
Oversees accounts receivable processes, ensuring collections are completed in a timely manner
and outstanding receivables are minimized.
Collaborates with the revenue cycle management team to ensure accurate billing practices and
efficient collection strategies.
Reviews aging reports and identify opportunities to improve cash collection cycles and reduce
outstanding accounts.
Evaluates and refines financial processes, controls, and reporting systems, continuously, to
improve scalability and operational efficiency.
Works with external advisors to assess and optimize financial and practice management
systems, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance.
Establish and maintains best practices for financial reporting, accruals, and financial close
processes to drive operational excellence.
Leverages tools to generate insightful reports and recommendations, and helps create reports,
dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for leadership.
Leads and participates in EOS meetings on a weekly basis.
Perform other tasks as requested that do not require materially different skills or significant
additional training.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferred. CPA or CMA designation
is a plus.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with a preference for candidates
with experience in healthcare or service-based industries.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Power BI, and practice management systems such as
Central Reach.
Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and budgeting.
Proven experience managing accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to both
financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Knowledge and experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and participation in
L10 meetings a nice to have.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and be a proactive contributor to
process improvements.
