Job Title:
Hours per week: FULL TIME; position available immediately
Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience ($15-18/hr)
Location: South Windermere
Reports to: Director - Carol Peckham & Regional Director - Hayley Keiser
Primary Objective of Job: As a Preschool Director at Kids Garden, your role is key to providing a creative, nurturing, and educational experience for young children. You'll lead engaging activities that foster a lifelong love of learning. In this position, you’ll teach from our curriculum, facilitate hands-on activities, and work with a collaborative team to build a positive and impactful preschool environment. You’ll guide circle time, follow a consistent schedule, and teach essential developmental skills while keeping both enrolled and drop-in children engaged in our Creative Arts Center.

Responsibilities:
- Lead educational activities and teach foundational skills such as shapes, numbers, and colors through creative play and crafts.
- Run circle time, manage hands-on art and educational activities, and maintain a structured, welcoming daily schedule.
- Ensure an enriching and stimulating environment where children can explore, create, and grow.
- Use our center's software for family check-ins and communications.
- Foster strong relationships with parents through open communication and excellent customer service.
- Continue professional development to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, adapt to the changing needs of children, and offer new ideas to improve the learning experience.
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- At least 6 months of prior experience in a childcare setting
- Ability to pass a background check and clear the central registry with DSS
- Reliable transportation
Skills:
- Passion for working with young children and ability to engage them with creativity and care
- Familiarity with classroom safety and sanitation guidelines
- A love for healthy living and creative education methods
- High energy, positivity, and a cheerful demeanor
- Ability to adapt to various teaching techniques (storytelling, play, music, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills to follow daily developmental programs
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, busy environments
- Strong multitasking abilities and attention to child safety
- Excellent communication skills, both with children and their families
- A team player, willing to step in wherever needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, bend, squat, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stay active and engaged throughout the day
- Comfort in leading groups of 10 or more children at a time
