Early Childhood - Food Service Coordinator/ Bus driver

Summary

The Food Service Coordinator supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to center children and staff. The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen.

The bus driver is responsible for transporting children safely between home, daycare, school, or other designated locations. Assisting children in getting on and off the bus safely. This includes making sure no child is left behind and helping younger or special-needs children as necessary.

Duties

• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook and deliver meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in according with state licensing requirements.
• Order food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Drivers must maintain a professional demeanor and act as role models for children. They are often the first point of contact for parents, so it?s important to establish good communication and trust.

Requirements

• 1 ? 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in child care or institutional setting.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check.
• Must pass health screening.
• Bus drivers must undergo specialized training to handle child passengers and understand the safety regulations under Georgia law. They may also need to complete CPR and first aid certification.
