Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing high-level strategic project plans across both the Practice Business Support (PBS) team and the Quality Department. This role will focus on managing multiple initiatives within a Pediatric Clinically Integrated Network, ensuring alignment with operational, financial, and quality improvement objectives.
Beyond execution, the Project Manager will play a critical mentorship role, developing and promoting project management best practices within leadership and staff. They will train and empower teams, creating frameworks and workflows that allow departments to self-sufficiently manage projects. The role also includes analyzing healthcare data, optimizing workflows, and ensuring stakeholder collaboration.
This individual must be a strategic enabler and change leader, ensuring project success while fostering long-term internal project management capabilities.
This is a hybrid remote position so you must live local in the Atlanta, Ga metro area.
Job Description
Project Management & Strategic Leadership
- Translate complex strategic goals into actionable implementation roadmaps.
- Develop high-level project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks proactively.
- Track and monitor multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Building Project Management Capability & Leadership Training
- Serve as a champion for project management skills, fostering a culture of efficiency and accountability within the staff.
- Mentor and coach leadership teams and staff on project methodologies, best practices, and process improvements.
- Promote a proactive approach to project ownership among department leaders.
- Establish standardized project templates, dashboards, and workflows that enhance project tracking and transparency.
- As time allows, develop training programs, workshops, and tools to help teams self-manage projects effectively.
Healthcare Analytics & Quality Improvement
- Extract, analyze, and interpret payer data, quality metrics, and population health trends.
- Utilize advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling) and Power BI for data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department on HEDIS, NCQA, and other national quality benchmarks.
- Develop and maintain reports, scorecards, and performance dashboards to measure project impact and efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Work closely with leadership teams to define key project needs and objectives, ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals.
- Encourage a culture of accountability, ensuring projects maintain momentum and deliver value to the organization.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Pediatric Business Support, Quality, clinical teams, and external partners.
- Act as a liaison between leadership and teams, ensuring clear communication of expectations and deliverables.
- Provide change management support, helping teams transition smoothly through process improvements and system implementations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing projects (preferably within a healthcare setting).
- Proven experience in strategic project planning, execution, and process improvement.
- Strong background in quality improvement, population health, and healthcare analytics.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data automation, modeling).
- Experience with project management and data tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana, Power BI, Innovaccer).
- Ability to interpret and translate healthcare data into actionable strategies.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to present complex data in an understandable format.
- Ability to engage with leadership and extract key project needs, translating them into structured, executable project plans.
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
