What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Tutor position at Kids In Tech?

At Kids in Tech, we're looking for motivated, friendly people to become Academic Tutors and help kids around Boston, MA grow their STEM skills. THE BASICS
Pay: We're offering high school students pay starting at $19.00/hour, while college students can earn $20.00 - $25.74/hour.
Schedule: You work a minimum of one hour per week throughout the entire school year (September to June), plus additional time as needed for training and team meetings. Tutoring hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Perks: We also compensate for preparation time.
YOUR DAY
As a part-time Academic Tutor, you work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing extra assistance. Using our structured session model and approved materials, you guide students through the material while setting a great example with your behavior. You build positive relationships with these students, helping grow their confidence, build their self-esteem, and foster their love of learning.
Throughout the year, you participate in tutoring training, attend quarterly staff meetings, and maintain records of the students' progress. You participate in formal reviews, prepare for tutoring sessions beforehand, and maintain confidentiality and respect while helping your students.
REQUIREMENTS
- • 18 years old
- • Ability to complete pre-service training
