Here at Kids In Tech in Lowell, MA, we offer our part-time Program Educators an hourly salary of $17.55 - $28.50 for leading engaging, hands-on learning experiences that empower children to explore the wonders of STEAM.
As our part-time Program Educator, you will work within our current program year, October 2024 - June 2025. You will instruct at a partner site program a minimum of 2 days a week and complete biweekly check-ins with your direct supervisor, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment for both you and your students.

Since our first after-school tech club launched in 2016, Kids in Tech has empowered young learners from low-income households to engage in immersive, hands-on STEAM education. Our interactive program provides children aged 8 - 14 the skills, education, and confidence they need to improve their technology savvy and thrive as future leaders.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
From the moment you step into the classroom, you're shaping the future of young innovators. You prepare engaging lessons, ensuring all necessary materials are ready for hands-on exploration. As students arrive, you create a positive and inspiring environment, making STEAM concepts come alive through interactive learning. You capture their excitement, documenting progress through photos, videos, and attendance records. You become a mentor and role model, showing students how STEAM plays a crucial role in our world. Collaborating with site staff, you adapt the KiT STEAM curriculum to meet students' needs, ensuring an enriching experience. Through family engagement, field trips, and guest speaker coordination, you bridge the gap between learning and real-world application.
Here's what you need to become our part-time Program Educator:
- • 16 years of age
- • High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a high school or college setting
- • United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien
- • Resident of Lowell, the Boston area, or has reliable transportation
- • Education or youth development experience
- • STEAM field experience (STEAM major, STEAM clubs, or an interest in STEAM
- • Fluent in multiple languages, preferably Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Cape Verdean Creole, or Khmer
- • Enthusiastic and inquisitive
- • Adaptable, possesses a growth mindset
- • Leadership experience
