Developmental Specialist Requirements & Responsibilities:

Developmental Specialist Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study required
- Complete credentialing as an Early Intervention Specialist within six months of hire (on-the-job training provided)
- Pass a background criminal investigation and have an acceptable driving record
- Use of a personal vehicle with continuous automobile insurance that meets state minimum requirements
- Engage children in positive, age-appropriate play interactions to encourage development
- Provide accurate guidance to families on typical and atypical child development
- Share assessment results with the Early Intervention team and families to determine appropriate strategies
- Build and maintain relationships of trust and mutual respect with families, co-workers, and community partners
- Be proficient in using a PC/iPad for documentation and work records
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, at a professional level
- Must be able to drive within the community, navigate stairs and uneven surfaces, carry up to 50 pounds, and engage in active play on the floor for sustained periods
