What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Group Leader position at Kids' Place After School & Summer Day Program?
Kids' Place is a an after-school and summer program for ages 5 years through 14 years old. Kids’ Place is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and is a Christian, faith- based program. We are looking for an individual who has a heart to work with children, knowledge of the Christian faith and a desire to share the gospel. Candidates who are able to drive for the program to pick children up from school and bring them to afterschool, will be prioritized. We will assist you in obtaining a 7D certificate. *If you have additional skills and experience in a child care program, there may be additional positions available. This can be discussed during an interview.
Teacher Requirements for Hire:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 months experience working with school age children
- If no Bachelor’s degree is held , a high school diploma plus 6 months experience working with school-age children will be required including 3 months of supervised experience in a school- age child care program.
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Able to handle crisis situations
- Knowledge of the Christian faith

- Lead Teachers, Site Coordinator and Director
General Function: Teachers are responsible for providing a warm and nurturing environment, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and supervising children and assistant staff.
Responsibilities :
- Works with other staff and volunteers as part of the program team.
- Maintain the safety and well-being of children in the program at all times including transition times.
- Accountable for children at all times and keeps track of attendance.
- Supervises and manages children’s behavior and interacts with children in both small and large group settings.
- Supervises assistant teachers and volunteers.
- Plans and implements age-appropriate and enriching activities for children in the program (clubs).
- Submits lesson plans, lists of needed supplies, and any other documents requested by Lead Teachers, Site Coordinator or Director in a timely manner (clubs).
- Informs Lead Teachers, Site Coordinator or Director of issues regarding (but not limited to) behavior, child development/well-being, and parent comments.
- Helps with daily set-up of activities, supplies, and program site as requested and as needed.
- Helps with daily clean-up of the program site as requested and as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and training's.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
