What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Teacher position at Kids R Kids?
Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Mableton is searching for individuals to add value to the teaching team! We have roles with ALL age groups available. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the childcare teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving meals, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and creating a safe environment.
We seek individuals who will:
- Assist in implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children
- Provide care and protection for assigned children
- Foster strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Maintain a physical environment conducive to children’s growth and development and arrange to promote optimal program functioning.
- Play, paint, sing, dance, laugh, guide, nurture, read, make messes, build, create, and teach the children
- Help children learn to adapt to and cope with real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene
- Make daily observations of the health and progress of children, reporting conditions which require attention
- Assist in the maintenance of progress records on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of assigned children
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities
- Complete continuing education hours per State requirements each year
- Assure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate and in good condition
- Perform classroom related and other maintenance duties as requested

State Requirements
- Satisfactory Comprehensive Records Check Determination
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Possess necessary academic requirements
- Must be able to perform adequately the job duties of providing for the care and supervision of the children enrolled in the Center in accordance with DECAL Rules for Child Care Learning Centers.
Other desired skills
- CDA, TCC or other education related accreditation is a plus
- Prior childcare experience a plus
- First Aid certified is a plus
- Able to consistently stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills.
