WHAT IS Kids Rock Fitness?
Kids Rock Fitness is a mobile functional fitness program for children, where we bring our coaches, equipment, and program to preschools and daycare facilities. Our programs introduce children to fitness, teaching them foundational skills through functional movements, dance and games in every class.
Kids Rock Fitness Coaches are:
- Safety-conscious - #1 priority is the safety of children under their care. Safely manage class sizes between 8 and 12 kids.
- Caring - engage with each child through specific and positive affirmation
- Organized - plan ahead and conduct each class according to the provided curriculum with appropriate equipment, supplies and other materials to deliver the Kids Rock Fitness experience
- Responsible - commit to doing what is expected of them as an outstanding coach and "face" of Kids Rock Fitness.
- Energetic - bring fitness to life by creating a fun and positive atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on each child
- Excellent communicators – with children, with parents, with daycare and preschool owners/ directors to maintain relationships, ensuring that Kids Rock Fitness is always outperforming!
- Professional - Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with staff and director as well as parents, self-assured
- Role models - for young children physically, emotionally, and socially. Able to connect with kids age 2 to 5 on their level, making the Kids Rock Fitness Class the best part of their week.
- Punctual - Arrives on time to each session and provide a positive customer experience to faculty and families
Duties for every Kids Rock Fitness Class:
- Ensures the safety and well-being of every child
- For childcare sites, gathers children from classroom and returns after the session
- Follows proper on-site protocol for each location, as prepared and provided by Kids Rock Fitness Lead Coach
- Conducts fun and positive 30 to 35 minute sessions, following the weekly Kids Rock Fitness curriculum
- Maintains equipment in proper condition and arrives on time to set-up for session
- Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
Communication/Administration:
- Communicates in a timely fashion with the supervisor about any changes, challenges, or important information
- Completes the online attendance sheet for each session
- Proper use of time tracking and parent communication app to share the FUN with the parents and caregivers
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with children – Highly Preferred
- High School diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Subject to a background check with the Michigan State Police, Central Registry, and the Michigan Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Child Care Background Check
- Access to a smartphone or computer for consistent email communication.
- Maintains equipment in proper condition and arrives on time to set-up field for session
- Reliable transportation is a must as we are a mobile program.
WORK LOCATIONS INCLUDE:
- All of Kent County, Holland/Zeeland, Portage and Kalamazoo
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Programs offered indoors and outdoors.
- Requires long periods of standing and activity (running, jumping, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, etc)
- Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs

Schedule/Hours:
Kids Rock Fitness is a program run primarily on weekday mornings and afternoons at preschools and childcare centers. We are currently only hiring coaches that can work weekday mornings between 8:30AM and 12PM or afternoons between 2PM and 4PM. There is flexibility in which you can provide the days and times you wish to coach if hired. Please note that once you are assigned your days & times of the week, that schedule will be consistent for the entirety of the season (8 weeks). At some centers, there will be multiple classes, meaning you will be instructing 2-5 consecutive hours each day
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
