Job Description: Director

Location: KidsPark Main Line, Haverford PA

Objectives:Under the supervision of the Center Management, the Director will lead, manage, coordinate, and organize the staff to effectively implement our program. They will support, encourage, and guide all staff in maintaining a recreational focus while ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children. The Director will also build trust with customers through professionalism and high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

Program Support – Under the oversight of the Center Management, the Director will provide the necessary support to maintain the integrity of all recreational activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring staff to ensure proper implementation of the program.
  • Addressing concerns and suggestions from clients, staff, and children proactively.
  • Managing resources to ensure optimal use by all staff.
  • Supporting and implementing modifications as required by KidsPark or State Licensing agencies.

Program Development – In collaboration with the Center Management, the Director will contribute to the design and enhancement of KidsPark’s recreational program to support business and customer needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Documenting and testing new or modified recreational activities for potential implementation.
  • Staying informed about new techniques and activities in the childcare industry.

Administration – Under the Center Management's supervision, the Director will lead, manage, train, and support staff to create an optimal work environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Center Management making social posts, adding events to the web page.
  • Reviewing the center’s daily schedule to meet utilization goals.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate rosters and time-off logs.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and ensuring consistent training of new staff in line with KidsPark policies.
  • Providing direct supervision to Teachers and Aides while mentoring staff for growth opportunities.
  • Communicating relevant topics through memos and staff updates.
  • Ensuring timely communication with Corporate.
  • Organizing and compiling a quarterly schedule that aligns with business levels and State requirements.
  • Adjusting schedules based on business demand to meet utilization goals.
  • Addressing personnel concerns to maintain professionalism and quality care.
  • Conducting probationary and annual performance evaluations.
  • Managing payroll duties weekly.
  • Overseeing inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
  • Assist Center Management with Balancing and recording daily sales and expenses as needed.
  • Processing month-end requirements.

Quality Control – The Director will encourage improvements to traditional systems and processes to foster a responsive and high-quality environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring program efficiency and communicating concerns to the Site Director/Center Management.
  • Inspecting the facility for safety hazards or worn equipment and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Ensuring children use equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Maintaining the center to the highest standards.
  • Implementing KidsPark’s policies and procedures for consistency across locations.
  • Contributing to monthly staff meetings led by the Center Management.
  • Attending Directors' meetings.

Requirements:As a state-licensed facility, KidsPark Directors must meet Community Care Licensing requirements. Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field, plus one year of experience with children.
  • A bachelor’s degree, including 30 credit hours in the above fields, plus two years of experience with children.
  • An associate’s degree in the above fields, plus three years of experience with children.
  • An associate’s degree, including 30 credit hours in the above fields, plus four years of experience with children.

Additional Requirements:

  • KidsPark must be the primary employer.
  • Work 40 hours per week, including at least one weekend shift.
  • Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Dedicate at least five hours per week to administrative responsibilities.
  • Spend a minimum of 32 hours per week working on the floor.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with both adults and children in written and verbal formats.
  • Provide strong leadership and supervision in a positive manner.
  • Plan, implement, and share innovative activities.
  • Be accessible to the center by phone.
  • Uphold professionalism in communication, presentation, and appearance.
  • Exhibit dependability, flexibility, and punctuality.
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Role Significance:KidsPark Directors are essential leaders who, alongside the Center Management, set the tone for staff, children, and families. They serve as role models and mentors for staff and must maintain open communication with the Center Management. Success in this role requires meeting the outlined responsibilities and qualifications. If the Director does not meet these requirements, KidsPark reserves the right to reassign them to a position that better aligns with their strengths.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
