What are the responsibilities and job description for the MIS Coordinator position at KidsPeace?
The MIS Coordinator for the KidsHaven Program analyzes and responds to computer and telephone problems and requests from the user community at all KidsHaven locations. Coordinate issues with Help Desk personnel and works closely with Systems and Network Administrators. Provides basic training to users. Usually competent in most phases of problem analysis and resolution to work on his/her own and only requires some general direction for the balance of the activities. Additional helpdesk duties as needed daily.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least three years of relevant or equivalent work-related experience and training might be substituted for a college degree.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Proficiency in English (ability to communicate in written and oral form) required. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
Job Duties:
- Confers with the organization's computer users to determine hardware/software problems.
- Provide level 1 and level 2 technical support to employees of KidsHaven by working with the Help Desk ticketing system and monitoring IThelp inbox throughout 8-hour workday. Also, may need to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends.
- Analyzes problems and resolves when possible by replacing or repairing nonfunctional hardware or software.
- Actively communicates with members of the Help Desk to establish priority issues concerning the performance of various computer and network activity.
- Distributes PC hardware, related peripherals and software to fulfill user requests or as directed by Supervisor or Director of Tech Support & Services.
- Installs and replaces network equipment as directed by Supervisor, Director of Tech Support & Services, or a Network Administrator.
- Coordinates with outside vendors as necessary to ensure reliable computer and telecommunications services.
- Assists with maintaining inventory to track hardware distributed to the user community.
- Assists with deployment of Firmware upgrades to all applicable hardware.
