What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permanency Specialist position at KidsPeace?
The Permanency Specialist will provide a full range of adoption/permanency services at designated FCCP sites. The position requires work with both children and adults working toward permanency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a human services field.
- Adoption experience preferred.
- Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certifications required.
- Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
- Must be 21 years of age.
JOB DUTIES:
- Market adoption/permanency services to county agencies and the public. Promote the visibility of KidsPeace via local speaking engagements, etc.
- Knowledge of State Adoption Regulations, adoption/permanency bulletins, and any other pertinent adoption requirements.
- Prepare and complete all reports, statistical information, and other file requirements as per agency policy and state mandated regulations. Assure compliance with all bulletins and use adoption best practice guidelines.
- Handle calls from interested persons and follow-up as expediently as possible. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to build pool of adoptive families/resource families.
- Participate in the assessment, orientation, and training of families.
- Complete all units of adoption/permanency services as assigned.
- Attend regional, quarterly, and annual State meetings/conferences and attend adoption/permanency training as necessary. Participate in ongoing training as indicated by State regulations and/or KidsPeace policy.
- Act as advocate and liaison with other professional service providers in the community, potential referral sources, and within the KidsPeace organization as necessary
