What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM DIRECTOR position at KidsPeace?
The Program Director - Residential is responsible for the overall coordination, administration, management and leadership of Residential services and programming. The Program Director ensures safe, high quality, high utilization programs and adherence to KidsPeace policies, procedures and plans. The Program Director ensures that programming schedules and interventions are performed and documented according to professional clinical standards. In collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment team members, the Program Director ensures integrity of treatment planning processes and maintenance of the highest documentation standards as required by regulatory standards and professional scopes of practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in healthcare, nursing, social work, psychology, counseling, business and/or related field required.
- Minimum of five years experience in adminsitrative, clinical, or healthcare management with an emphasis in the field of psychiatric or behavioral science modalities required.
- Prior experience in marketing behavioral health or healthcare services required.
- Licensure as a clinical professional strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license
- SCM certification, CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained during New Associate Orientation)
- Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
JOB DUTIES:
- Child Safety and Quality: Assure the safety of kids and staff and the quality of programs consistent with the mission of KidsPeace and the Model of Care.
- Budget Targets & Service Delivery: Meet or exceed overall budget targets while maintaining effective operations and delivering quality services and outcomes.
- Regulatory & Legal Compliance: Assure organizational compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, licensing, legal and other authorizing bodies. Coordinate regulatory and/or survey activities as necessary and required.
- Performance Improvement: Lead the performance improvement and Clinical Transformation process which consistently evaluates and improves operational systems, intra and inter-departmental coordination and efficiencies and clinical outcomes.
- Customer Relations: Assure excellent internal and external customer relations, including assuring a service orientation towards clients, families and referral sources. Serve as an ambassador for KidsPeace with the public and within the community.
- Leadership: Provide effective leadership to program staff to ensure that organizational vision, mission, and philosophy are maintained; Assure staff are oriented and trained according to KidsPeace and regulatory requirements, provide feedback on a regular basis, more frequently if necessary, and support teamwork throughout the organization.
- Restraints: Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
- Maintain awareness of the KidsPeace continuum of services and actively promote the internal transfer and referral of children and families whenever clinically indicated by attending bi-annual training on the continuum and communicating with associates between levels of care and actively seeking opportunities to share information about the continuum with consumers as evidenced by written documentation in the client record.
