PURPOSE OFPOSITION
The Development Data and Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of donor records and managing the organization’s donor database. This position is responsible for processing gifts, generating timely donor acknowledgments, and ensuring consistent, accurate financial reporting in close collaboration with the finance team.
In addition to database and gift management, this role also provides essential support for fundraising and donor engagement events — helping ensure smooth logistics, accurate donor participation records, and strong stewardship. Attention to detail, organization, and discretion are key in this position, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both data-driven work and being part of a mission-focused team dedicated to creating meaningful change.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Support:
Maintain and update the donor database (e.g., CRM software) to ensure accurate records of donor contributions, contact information, and engagement history.
Process donations, generate receipts, and provide timely acknowledgment letters to donors.
Prepare monthly donation and revenue reports for the finance department, including reconciliation of credit card transactions.
Assist in donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you calls, donor appreciation events, and recognition programs.
Ensure all online donation and payment forms are accurate, functional, and up to date to provide a seamless giving experience for donors.
Event & Campaign Support:
Manage event management software that includes tracking registrations, ticket sales, sponsorships, and event-related communications.
Manage on-site event logistics that include registration, volunteer management, and guest services for signature events.
· Assist with post-event follow-up, including donor acknowledgments, data updates, and event reporting.
Marketing & Communications:
Maintain mailing lists for donor communications and fundraising appeals.
· Collaborate with the development team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across printed and digital donor materials.
Administrative & Other Duties:
Respond to donor inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Assist with grant tracking, documentation, and reporting as needed.
Perform other duties assigned to support the broader goals of the development department.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Experience managing a CRM system (e.g., Virtuous, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, OneCause, or similar) highly preferred.
· Prior experience in event planning and/or fundraising a plus.
· Associate or bachelor’s degree a plus but not required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COGNITIVE DEMANDS
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of industry specific software, industry specific systems and other web-based software programs, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
