Preschool Teacher Qualifications:
Create fun and engaging lesson plans for the children
Ensure the daily care of every child by following all state licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards
Strong verbal communicator with an upbeat personality who is comfortable and excels with speaking to parents to help each child succeed
Energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly personality
Maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized
Shows initiative; strong work ethic
Strong attendance habits
Ability to work in a team environment
Professional conduct
Background check required
We are interested in talking to applicants that have:
Experience working in a licensed childcare facilities
- 90 hours certification, coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development or a CDA
- Impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
- The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
- Can teach both a nationally certified skills based curriculum and a Christian based curriculum
- Have reliable and dependable transportation
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Teach children
- Encourages students' positive self-image and supports individuality, and independence.
- Uses circle time and adheres to lesson plans and provides a balance of activities.
- Ability to respond to individual students' learning, physical and emotional needs.
- Maintains a safe, clean and healthy environment and follows KCA and state licensing standards.
- Ensures that hazardous objects are out of reach of children.
- Provides full supervision of children and maintains ratios at all times, keeps attendance records.
- Communicates with children in child friendly tones and on their level.
- Manages classroom behavior by providing established rules and limits as noted in the KCA handbook.
- Initiates and models positive interactions in the classroom and on the playground.
- Communicates parental concerns, issues and progress to the director or owner
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to continually learn, improve skills and adopt new ideas in education.
- Clean classroom and materials at the end of each school day prior to closure.
