Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and technical writing skills, with a proven track record in proposal writing and fundraising. The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, coordinating, and submitting KidVantage’s grants; establishing and maintaining relationships with foundation contacts; writes and submitting reports. As a member of the Development & Communication Team, this position contributes to the development of annual goals, and assists with the development of department processes and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute annual grant plan; coordinate timelines, manage deadlines and track proposal elements to ensure timely proposal submissions
  • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals that effectively communicate program objectives and outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with new corporate or foundation funders; nurture existing relationships with corporate, foundation and local government funders
  • Utilize Raiser Edge software for tracking submissions and managing donor relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and updates for funders regarding project progress.
  • Support program development initiatives by providing insights on funding trends and opportunities.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in grant proposal writing, fundraising, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Systems and Raiser Edge or similar donor management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, analytical and research skills
  • Able to develop and sustain successful relationships with foundation staff
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • A passion for non-profit work and commitment to advancing the mission of the organization.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
