Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and technical writing skills, with a proven track record in proposal writing and fundraising. The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, coordinating, and submitting KidVantage’s grants; establishing and maintaining relationships with foundation contacts; writes and submitting reports. As a member of the Development & Communication Team, this position contributes to the development of annual goals, and assists with the development of department processes and functions.
Responsibilities
- Execute annual grant plan; coordinate timelines, manage deadlines and track proposal elements to ensure timely proposal submissions
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals that effectively communicate program objectives and outcomes.
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with new corporate or foundation funders; nurture existing relationships with corporate, foundation and local government funders
- Utilize Raiser Edge software for tracking submissions and managing donor relationships.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and updates for funders regarding project progress.
- Support program development initiatives by providing insights on funding trends and opportunities.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing, fundraising, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Systems and Raiser Edge or similar donor management software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent writing, editing, analytical and research skills
- Able to develop and sustain successful relationships with foundation staff
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
