Position: Afterschool Teacher – Summer Program

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

- Has experience working with children (camps, classrooms, childcare, etc.)
- Is creative, flexible, and loves being part of a team
- Can lead a group with confidence and a big smile
Bonus Points If You:
- Have CPR/First Aid certification
- Are studying or have a background in education or child development
Our First Choice Learning Academy seeks afterschool program staff for our afterschool program, Group leaders, and assistant group leader positions are available Applicants should meet the requirements as listed and have a passion for working with school-age children.
Responsibilities for ALL Positions:
- Maintain teacher-child ratios and child safety at all times
- Provide students with homework assistance & academic support
- Implement proper behavior management techniques
- Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and manage transitions
- Work to meet daily duties/needs of the program and be responsible for making sure that materials are ready for use and put away at the end of the day
- Participate in at least twelve (12) hours of professional development per year
- As appropriate, participate in events based within the Academy.
- Abide by established our school-age policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor
Additional responsibilities may be required for Group Leaders, including but not limited to parent communication, progress reports, maintaining health and safety supplies and records, and facilitating the daily operation of the site.
Required Qualifications: Work with children ages 5yrs to 12yrs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.60 per hour
