What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Kidzland Child Care Center?
Kidzland Child Care Center in Little Chute is looking for a caring, passionate, responsible individual to work as an Assistant Teacher with our two year olds. Because this position works directly with young children, candidates must be confident, reliable, and have excellent communication skills.
While we are willing to train the right candidate, it is preferred that applicants have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
This position is also open as a Co-Lead position for those with a WI Registry level of 7 or higher. Rate of pay and responsibilities would reflect that.
Assistant Teachers must meet the WI State licensing minimums within 3 months of hire. Full-time only - Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm
Responsibilities for Assistant Teachers include:
- Meeting the WI State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Child Care Worker within 3 months of hire as well as meeting yearly continuing education requirements
- Assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and maintaining a positive classroom environment that aligns with YoungStar
- Must be willing and able to communicate effectively with children and their grownups to ensure a smooth transition in care between home and Kidzland.
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, be comfortable sitting on the floor, and be able to bend, twist, and lift
- Toddler teachers are responsible for ensuring that each individual child's needs are met in a timely manner, and include but are not limited to: diapering, preparing and feeding meals and snacks, rocking, soothing, singing, reading and playing on the floor with toddlers.
