What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Technician Intern position at KIHOMAC?
- Must have a basic understanding of work to be performed
- Interns will work 15 - 25 hours per week; summer interns will typically work 40 hours
- Must be willing to accept direction from, and interact professionally with supervisor and co-workers
- Must work with integrity and follow assigned tasks through to completion
- Assist with department administrative duties as necessary to learn about the work being performed, and to contribute to completion of department workload
- Verify shipment details, assist with packaging items, move items to storage areas, inspect the quality of items for shipment, and elevate defective products to management for action
- Receive, store, and track shipments of goods and materials, perform data entry in inventory management software, and maintain accurate inventory records
- Maintain inventory items in warehouse, operate pallet jacks, powered lifts, forklifts, and general warehouse tools and equipment
- Perform inventory picks of parts and materials for orders and ensure the correct quantity, quality, and traceability of all items
- Utilize hand tools and appropriate materials to open and seal crates, boxes, and other containers
- Perform cycle counts of inventory on monthly, quarterly and annual basis, or as required by management
- Experience with Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn and operate inventory management software
- Maintain 5S - Safe and Clean work environment

Education/Training:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 0 years of professional experience in the required task area
- Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
- Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
