What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sushi Maker in Boston College (experience required) position at Kikka Sushi?
Kikka sushi is looking for energetic, hardworking, dependable, sushi makers (working experience required) that will provide great customer service in our location at Boston College, 325 Beacon St., Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
Part time or Full time, 9 - 10 hour shifts (including an hour unpaid mean break), Monday - Friday. Working hours are between 6am – 4pm.
The sushi maker will make sushi in advance and per customer's request. The team member will also do prep work, prepare other Asian foods and maintain a clean and neat environment while helping customers in a fun, fast paced, exciting environment.
To thrive in this job you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, have a flexible morning and evening availability, be willing to work hard (this isn’t an easy job and we are busy), be patient (it takes about 3 months to get comfortable with the job), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few days or weeks) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English.
Pay: very competitive pay, for a sushi maker (no tips but we pay accordingly).
Qualifications:
- At least 6 months working sushi making experience.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Be 18 years of age or older
Preferred experience:
- Flexible morning and evening availability
- Working in quick service restaurants, supermarkets or fast paced environments
- Food handling experience and food handler certification
