What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker position at Kilby Lake Campground?
Kilby Lake Campground is a scenic and family-friendly destination known for its beautiful outdoor spaces and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Groundskeeper & Maintenance Worker to help keep our campground clean, safe, and enjoyable for all visitors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and weed removal
- Maintain cleanliness of campground facilities, including restrooms, cabins, picnic areas, and common spaces
- Conduct minor repairs on buildings, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Collect and dispose of trash throughout the campground
- Inspect and maintain campsites, fire pits, picnic tables, and recreational areas
- Operate and maintain small equipment, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, power tools, small tractors, honey wagon
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to management
- Provide friendly customer service to campers and guests as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, farming, or a related field is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work perferred
- Comfortable using hand tools and power equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license preferred
