Position summary :
As a valuable member of the Instructional Support Services & Retention Division, the retention assistant will pay a key role in supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement, persistence, and success. The responsibilities will include providing administrative support, assisting with communication efforts, and collaborating with team members to implement strategies for student retention.
Position responsibilities :
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions, progress, and intervention strategies.
- Coordinate scheduling for student check-ins, workshops [power-sessions], and student meetings.
- Engage with students through various channels, providing information on retention initiatives and available resources.
- Process purchase requisitions (when needed).
- Contribute to the planning and execution of retention-related workshops, seminars, and other events.
- Support the collection and organization of data related to the student success and retention efforts.
- Collaborate with the team to analyze data and identify trends that inform decision-making.
- Guide students to relevant campus resources, such as tutoring services, counseling, and career services.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive resource database for easy accessibility.
- Work closely with team members to share insights, strategies, and updates on student interactions.
- Collaborate on the development and enhancement of student success programs.
- Contribute to initiatives that foster a sense of community and belonging among students.
- Assist in organizing and promoting events that positively impact the campus culture.
- Prepare regular reports on student engagement, intervention outcomes, and the overall effectiveness of retention initiatives.
- Engage in proactive outreach activities
- Other duties assigned –assist with the KC-Longview office cashier operations during peak times—the start of the semester. Also, serve as backup cashier, as needed, when the full-time cashier is on vacation or at designated lunch period.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully remote positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be remote, but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.
