Part-Time Instructor - Legal Assisting (Adjunct)

Position Details:

This position is part of the teaching faculty within the Business and Information Technology department and reports to the Department Chair. Legal Assisting instructors that can teach online as well as on campus in Kilgore are needed

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities will include teaching one or more Legal Assisting courses
• Developing appropriate course syllabi
• Working with students as needed.
• Courses may be online, face-to-face, or hybrid.
• Adjunct faculty members teach and supervise all learning experiences and evaluate student performance in the classroom.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates must have earned an associate’s degree or higher in Legal Assisting, Paralegal Studies, or Law.
• Candidates must also have several years of legal assisting experience.
• Additional certification related to paralegal studies is a plus.
• Preference will be given to applicants with previous college teaching experience.

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:

• Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,800 per 3-hour course for a master's degree to $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
