Screed Operator / Screed Hand

We are now hiring Screed Operators / Screed Hands. In this position you will be responsible for the screed on the back of the paving machine, maintaining proper depth, drainage, ride and quality of asphalt laid.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Operator on asphalt paver with normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade & finished cross section of asphalt material / screed extensions
- Set up of job site, tack coat, string line etc.
- Assist crew with shoveling and raking
- Assist crew with job site clean up
- Assist trucks when backing under difficult conditions to help avoid injury or property damage
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but un-involved written or oral instructionDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all timesMust be willing to travel and work away from home when requiredMust be willing to work nights and weekends when necessaryReport to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start timeStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures ManualWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as requiredBenefits
